Crane Down

Hi,

This post is about how i got on with my crane because that was one of the most exiting (and slightly irritating)things ive had to do at Te Kura so far.
I am currently in a campervan so i had a bit of trouble space-wise but i got on alright.
My fist attempt kind of broke down, because i had made the base out of newspaper only.
After suffering the despair of having to start all over again i drew up a new template-type-of -thing but when i looked at it i could tell it wouldn't work, so i decided to use the fist design again but stabilize the whole structure with the card.
That idea woked so i stuck with that.I also had a bit of trouble with the tape because i was worried that 1m wouldn't be enough, but i got there in the end.
I had to use fishing line instead of string (i hope thats OK with you Sandy)because we didn't have any string and that was the closest thing we could find.It was also rather tricky with the fishing line because it is slippery and that makes it harder to hold onto (and tape to the ground).

Well
I'm off

  1. Hi Zala

You are a great crane builder! I am impressed with the way that you have reflected and then used that information (reflection) to move yourself forward to build a much better crane. Yes I am glad that you thought to improvise and use another resource instead of string. I wonder if that made your crane stronger of weaker?

    great all round effort Zala!!

  2. That sounds awesome Zala! Good work for not giving up when it broke down the first time! Did the crane work? I hope it did.
    Thanks for a good post.
